1950s John Pile for George Nelson Associates Laminate Pretzel Chairs set of 4
A set of four scarce John Pile for George Nelson Associates of Herman Miller Side Chairs. These chairs are purportedly from a run of around 100 chairs before being discontinued. A light and airy design, consisting of birch plywood and legs with walnut cores. Holes in the seat were designed for tying seat pads. A collectible and unique set that rarely surfaces.
Provenance: Purchased from the original owners an architect in Chicago.

Condition: Appears to have an older varnish applied. Some scuffs. Darker and lighter areas and uneven coloring, especially at high points and high rub areas.
