1971 Pair of Swan Chairs Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen Danish Modern swivel and rock
A pair of Swan Chairs designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen newly upholstered in a baby blue nubby boucle fabric. These were stripped and new foam was added. and the fabric was hand stitched, a thoughtful restoration. These chairs were originally designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for the SAS hotel in Copenhagen Denmark. The Swan chair is a landmark of Danish Modernism. It is renowned for having no straight lines, relying on organic, curved forms created with innovative, for the time, molded synthetic foam. These chairs would compliment designs from Milo Baughman, Finn Juhl, Hans Wegner, and Edward Wormley.
