Mid Century Modern Paul McCobb 20 Drawer Chest of Drawers on Iron Base
A 1950s highly coveted 20 drawer dresser by Paul McCobb, featuring a black painted iron base that taper to adjustable threaded feet. The case in solid birch with 10 central pull out drawers flanked on both sides with two doors that conceal 10 smaller additional drawers. Brass conical pulls on the central doors. This cabinet is an architectural marvel and the delicate iron base appears to float the solid wood mass. This piece would work well with other great American designers such as Milo Baughman, Greta Grossman, Harvey Probber and Edward Wormley.
Signed on the outside of top drawer.
Condition: Recently refinished. A heavier stain on the top was sanded and shows as a slight indention. even finish throughout.
