An uncommon Mel Smilow Bench in rush and solid walnut. This example from the 1950s. This design is not reproduced by the current Mel Smilow Furniture Company and rarely surfaces. Beautiful original woven rush seat, walnut trimmed frame poised over tapered walnut legs. Timeless modern design. Great in an entryway, under a coat rack, at the foot of a bed or under a window for holding plants or books.
